James Hopkins

James H. Hopkins, 84, of Central Lake, went home to his heavenly father, Tues. May 12, 2015. He was born July 11, 1930, the son of Donald and Alice (Truman) Hopkins. He proudly served in United States Air Force and work for many years as a supervisor for the City of Lansing waterworks division. Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, and building. He was also an active member of the Bible Baptist Church. On May 19, 1999 in Lansing, he married Dorothy "Helen" McNeil who survives. Also surviving is his daughter Carrie (Robert) Hendry and his siblings Paul Hopkins, Anna Caswell, Hazel Hopkins, Mary Lanway, Ester Lichte, Elizabeth Sheldon, Faith Johnson, Eunice Dugan, Rachel Erikson, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings Theodore, Harwood, Lawrence and David Hopkins, and his beloved dog Precious. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 18, at 1 p.m. at the Bible Baptist Church of Central Lake with Pastor Russell Tharp officiating. Interment will follow in Southern Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial donations may be directed to the Bible Baptist Church.
