James Harris

James Luke "Jimmy do". Harris, 70, of Charlevoix passed away on April 3, 2018 at his home.

Jim was born on January 10, 1948 in Somerville, TN to the late Joe and Aurilla (Walker) Harris.

He was one of the most devoted and loyal man that anyone could have the pleasure of knowing. He was a devoted loving husband. He enjoyed fishing and camping with his friends and family.

Jim was a devoted union worker who traveled around the county making friends every stop along the way.

On June 27, 2001 in Curtis, MI he married Robin Kanipe who survives. He was a father to many beautiful children, James (Jill), Tracy, Nathan, Jamie, Melissa, Cory and Darrill. A Grandfather to Kaela, Jay, Mandi, Taegan, Torryn, Angelina, Ivey, Tyler, Abbigail, Adikin, Jareth, Brody and Aadyn. Great Grandpa to Kateri, Kalayah and Floyd all who survive him. He is also survived by his siblings, Charles, John and Phyllis, Emma and Joe Jr and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his son Tracy Harris, sister Oralee Jackson, brother Willie Harris and his parents.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 6, 2018 from 2:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Jax Northside in Charlevoix. Memorial contributions in Jim's name may be directed to his family, Robin Harris, PO BOX 538, Charlevoix, MI 49720.
