James L. Edgar, 71, of Bellaire, passed away on December 21, 2014 at his home. Jim was born on September 27, 1943, in Gladwin, MI, the son of Roger and Edith (Pero) Edgar. Jim resided in Bellaire since 1977 and was employed by Star Cutter for 40 years prior to retiring in 2008. He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, gardening as well as spending time at his property outside Bellaire. He also enjoyed going to the 7:00 a.m. breakfast table with his buddies at Mrs. Pete's and spending time with his close friends Leonard and Elaine Dawson. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam. He is survived by a son Doug (Sarah) Edgar of Grand Haven, a daughter Danielle (Tim) Willson of Bellaire, 7 grandchildren, Edith, James, Shauna, Kaleb, Kasey, Ella Grace, and Grayson. He is also survived by 11 siblings, John (Catherine) Edgar of TN, Chuck (Mary) Edgar of WV, Louis (Cheryl) Edgar of Gladwin, Dorothy Willis of Gaylord, Martin (Sherry) Edgar of GA, Cecilia (Leonard McIntosh) White of Gladwin, Roger Edgar of Gladwin, Larry Edgar of TN, Teresa "Flippy" (Chris) Abbott of Gaylord, Joe Edgar of Reed City, Aggie (Terry) Mackie of Gladwin, wife Lucille Edgar as well many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Gail Edgar in 1990, three sisters, Marie Hummel, Kate Jones, Jean Willis, a brother Andy Edgar as well as his parents. Funeral services will take place on Monday, December 29, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Luke Catholic Church, Fr. James Gardiner officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday, December 28, from 3-7 p.m. at the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Interment will take place in Fairview Cemetery, Custer Township. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Arrangements are being handled by the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
