James "Jim" Ebeling, 81, of Central Lake, died peacefully, Tues. May 1, 2012 at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility. He was born July 30, 1930, in Detroit, the son of Ivan and Ellen (Tremaine) Ebeling. Jim grew up in Rosedale Park, along with his younger brother Don. As a youth he attended boarding school, and as a young man, he joined the U.S. Navy. After the Navy he worked a variety of jobs eventually settling in with Ford Motor Company for over 30 years. Jim liked motorcycles, trains, and playing bingo. In addition, he has always enjoyed playing cribbage, his favorite card game. Jim was an avid reader and loved amusement parks. You could always bring a smile to his face by talking to him about 2 of his favorite things: Tinkerbell and his Golden Retriever, Zema. Over the years he enjoyed traveling with his daughter Linda to many places including Paris and Russia. He is survived by his children Linda E. Ray, David C. (Kim) Ebeling, Pamela R. Thompson, Sharon G. Raifman, and step-children Michael (Teri) Ramsey, Mitchell Ramsey; granddaughter Olivia and grandson Alex. He was preceded in death by one son: James C. Ebeling Funeral services will be held Fri., May 4, at Noon at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with Pastor Gary Bekkering officiating. Interment will follow in Southern Cemetery.
