James D. Coleman, 77, of Alba, passed away on September 3, 2018 at Munson Medical Center.
Jim was born on May 3, 1941, in Braxton, GA, the son of William and Daisy Coleman.
Jim was a talented carpenter who could build anything. He loved fishing, spending time with his family and was a very faithful, religious man.
He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army in the Vietnam era.
On May 3, 1998, in Alba, he married Della M. Melling, who survives. Also surviving are 3 children, James (Cathy) Coleman of Baxley, GA, Marissa (Mike) Way of Pompano Beach, FL, David (Kerry) Coleman of Jacksonville, FL, 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and 3 sisters, Melissa “Lucy” Frost, Davene Connor, and Wylene Hope all of Brunswick, GA.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Ivella Sloan.
Funeral services will take place on Thursday, September 6 at 1:00 p.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services.
Burial with military honors will follow in Star Township Cemetery in Alba.
