JAMES B. CHAPMAN 73, of Mancelona, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 2009 at home.
Jim was born Oct. 6, 1935 in Mancelona the son of William and Bertha (Wheeler) Chapman.
He resided in Antrim County most of his life and was a skilled residential carpenter working for Augur Builders of Petoskey for many years.
He was a member and past governor of the Mancelona Lodge #2254.
Surviving are four sons, Ronald (Kelly) of Mancelona, Robert (Tina) of Alden, Jeffrey (Colleen) of Brighton, Darryl (Katrina) of Mancelona, three sisters, Mary (John) Larsen of Traverse City, Ruth (Don) Johnson of Mancelona, Esther (Darrell) Amidon of Traverse City, 14 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister Jean Bengtson, and seven brothers, Edward D., Vernon E. Arvis (Sam), Alvin W., Robert C., Keith E. and Thomas H.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 14, 2009 at 4 pm. At the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes, with Rev. Steven Weinberger and the Mancelona Moose Lodge #2254 officiating. The family will recieve friends on Saturday from noon until time of services.
Interment will be in the spring at Chapman Cemetery, Custer Twp. . Memorial contributions may be made to the Moose Lodge charities.
