James Blankenhagen

James M. Blankenhagen, 71, of Torch Lake Twp., died Saturday, Jan. 31, 2009 at home. He was born May 12, 1937, in Detroit, the son of Milton and Irene (Gleason) Blankenhagen. In 1988, James retired from M.H. Blankenhagen Insurance Company of Livonia and moved north to his home in Torch Lake Twp. He had summered at Torch Lake since 1972. James was a Life member of the Masonic North Star Lodge in Torch Lake Village. He was also a member of the Royal Arch Masons of Monroe, Detroit Commandry #1, Moose Lodge of Livonia, Northville Eagles and the Livonia Elks. He is survived by 3 sons; Larry M. of Houston, TX, Thomas J. of Kewadin, and David J. (Sue) of Petoskey, 3 grandchildren; Tricia, Grace and Sam. He was preceded in death by his parents. Masonic funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 6, 2009 at Eleven a.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. The family will receive friends from 10 am until the time of service.
