Jackie Marshall was born 06/28/1953 in Stockbridge, MI the son of Walter and Alta (Adams) Marshall. He had three sisters and two brothers who preceded him.
He joined his good friend Ginny in heaven on 03/21/2022.
Jackie was a tolerant man, he was patient and rarely gave anyone trouble. He was fiercely loved by those who knew him best and will be missed by his Maple family of friends and caregivers. Life was not always easy for Jackie but he rarely complained and quietly endured life’s ups and downs. Jackie never lied, gossiped, or spoke ill of others but communicated well. He generously gave away his famous grins and would freely hold a hand or lean into hugs and hug people back. His greatest compliment to you was an impulsive kiss to the top of your head.
Jackie was equally content around a campfire, a picnic or in his zero-gravity easy chair. He loved to play a mimic game and being read to. He was not fond of car rides. However, a ride to Taco Bell was always tolerated for the payoff of a Nacho Del Grande, hold the chips. He will be greatly missed by his buddies Lennie, Kevin, Dan and Mrs. Ellison. Assuredly he was very thankful for his devoted staff Jennifer, Sherri, Dawn, Nichole, Kim, Ashely and their fearless leader Cassie who stayed tirelessly by his side until his very final moments. Without a single word Jackie managed to wrap his caregivers around his little finger and they loved it. Jackie had many years of pressing matters that concerned him, but he has enjoyed his retirement years sleeping in, relaxing and being pampered by those who loved him.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 30th at 1 p.m. at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Mancelona. Interment will be in the spring in Fairview Cemetery, Mancelona.
Arrangements have been handled by the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Please sign his online guestbook www.mortensenfuneralhomes.com.
