Jack Patton

JACK L. PATTON, 65, of Echo Township, died on August 2, 2010 at his home. Jack was born on July 7, 1945 in Central Lake, the son of Clarence "Sid" and Martha (DeForest) Patton. Jack was a lifelong resident of Central Lake. He contracted for Dow Chemical for several years before going to work for the Antrim County Sheriff's Department. He worked for the Sheriff's Department for 26 years where he held various positions. He enjoyed camping, many outdoor activities, including hunting and fishing and most of all spending time with his family. On December 12, 1963, in Central Lake, he married Jean Spann who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Jeff (Reese) Patton of Echo Twp., Rod (Laura) Patton of Echo Twp., a grandson Eric Patton of East Jordan, brother Dave (Maureen) Patton of Central Lake, five sisters, Mable Watkins of Traverse City, Vera Gordon of Central Lake, Wanda (Bub) Wolgamott of Central Lake, Mary Lort of Phoenix, AZ., Shirley (Keith) Warner of Elk Rapids and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Waneta Wilks, Agnes Asquith, a brother Dick Patton, and a grandson Brandon Patton. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, August 7 at 1:00 p.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Pastor Dave Scott will officiate. Visitation will be on Friday from 4-8 p.m. also at the funeral home. Interment will take place in Dunsmore Cemetery, Echo Township.
