Jack Haynes

On March 4, 2023 Jack Haynes, loving husband and father passed away at the age of 83. Jack was born April 19, 1939 in Marion, IN to Ralph and Evelyn Haynes.

He received his BS degree in Education from Adams State University, Alamosa, CO in 1966. He began his career as a 5th grade teacher in Aurora, IL. After receiving an MS in Education, Jack became an elementary school principal in East Aurora, IL. Jack went on to further his education and received an EdD from Northern, IL University, DeKalb, IL. From that point on, Jack and his family moved to Lakeland, FL where Jack became a member of the faculty at FL Southern College.  Shortly after joining the faculty, Jack was named Head of the Education Department where he held that position until his retirement in 2003.

On August 13, 1966 Jack married his high school sweetheart, Shari Farren. They raised one son, Michael.

After retirement he and his wife, Shari, remained in Lakeland, FL until 2007 at which time they moved to Charlevoix, MI.

Jack was preceded in death by his father, Ralph, and his mother, Evelyn.  He is survived by his wife, Shari, who resides in Charlevoix, MI and his son and daughter-in-law Michael and Kathy Haynes of Northport, MI.

There will be no services.
