Issac Scott McCann, 33, of Williamsburg, passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at his home surrounded by loved ones. He was born on May 1, 1988 in Grand Rapids, MI, the son of James McCann and Susan Shepard.
Issac graduated from the Kitchi Minogining Tribal School in 2007, and he went on to attend Grand Rapids Community College for a short time. He returned to Northern Michigan where he worked in many capacities at Turtle Creek Casino. Issac enjoyed playing videogames, fishing, and most importantly, spending time with his family.
Issac is survived by his loving wife, Gabbie McCann; his three children, Ezra McCann, Azalyia McCann, and Zola McCann; his parents, Susan & Amos Day and Dorothy (Dennis) Christy; his brother, Kaine Lee Shomin; his four sisters, Tawas McCann, Leiha McCann (Amos Van Aken), and Danielle (Al) Gissendanner; and his grandmother, Elizabeth (Wabanimkee) Yates.
He was preceded in death by his father, James McCann; his cousin, Dylan Dayson; and several other loved ones.
Funeral services will take place Wednesday, November 24 at 1:00 p.m. at the Kewadin Indian Mission Church. Visitation will take place from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will follow at the Kewadin Indian Mission Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Issac’s family.
