Isabelle "Mae" DeVries

Isabelle “Mae” DeVries, 90, of Traverse City and formerly of Atwood, passed away peacefully, August 18^th, 2022 at the Grand Traverse Pavilions.  Mae was born on May 6, 1932 in Charlevoix, to the late Thomas and Anna (DeYoung) Klooster. 

   Mae attended Ellsworth High School and as an adult worked in the lunch room there.  She could often be found doing a word search in her spare time.

   On March 29, 1951 in Atwood, she married Rink DeVries who preceded her in death.  Also preceding her in death were her sister Margaret Klooster Mensink and brother Lawrence Klooster.

   She is survived by her son Terry (Ethel) Devries, step grandchildren Heather Reh-Dreves, Andrew Reh (Mary), step great grandchildren McKenzie and McKayla Dreves, Isabella and Morgan Reh, brothers Andrew Klooster, Arnold (Mary) Klooster, and many nieces and nephews.

   No funeral service is planned and she will be buried next to her husband at Atwood Cemetery, Banks Twp.
