Isabell Ruby May LaPeer

Isabell Ruby May LaPeer, 93 of East Jordan, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at home with her family by her side.  She was born July 13, 1930 in Farwell, MI, the daughter of Quincey and Ruby (Hosler) Fuller. 

   On September 20, 1947 in East Jordan, she married August LaPeer.  Together they enjoyed 54 years of marriage.  Isabelle also enjoyed working a good crossword puzzle, watching the birds out the window and playing bingo in her younger years.  Her favorite times were going to her family cabin in the UP and sitting by the fireplace and also taking twice yearly trips to Pennsylvania with her sisters to visit her daughter Connie.  Family was very important to Isabell and she enjoyed spending as much time as she could with them. 

   Surviving are her children Constance (Gerald) Smith of PA, Gary (Brenda) LaPeer of East Jordan, Dennis (Pattie) LaPeer of Boyne City, sisters Betty Watros of Central Lake, Pauline (Harold) Hoogerhyde of East Jordan, 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, daughter in-law Sheila LaPeer, sister-in-law Reva Fuller, and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband August in 2001, sons Michael and Richard, infant daughter Denise, granddaughter Janel LaPeer, grandson Donald LaPeer, sister Cecelia Fuller, brothers Robert, Richard, Grant, and Herbert Fuller.

   The family will receive friends Thursday, January 18, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.  Spring graveside services will be held at Southern Cemetery, Central Lake.  Memorial contributions can be given to the Central Lake AmVets Post 6986, PO BOX 432, Central Lake, MI 49622.
