Iola Kirchofer

IOLA M. KIRCHOFER 92, of Washington Township, formerly of Custer Township, died on June 1, 2009. Iola was born on March 25, 1917 in Detroit, the daughter of Michael and Violet (Murray) Weaver. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Mancelona and enjoyed cooking, baking and volunteering. She is survived by a daughter Diane (Ed) Bey of Washington Twp., three grandchildren, Charles (Kelly) Bey of Warren, Kim (Dan) Howard of Rochester, Paul (Debra) Bey of Warren, 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson. On October 20, 1944 in Ohio, she married Robert Kirchofer who preceded her in death in 2002. Also preceding her in death were two sisters, Bernice Trembley, Marasada Van Dyke, two grandsons, Ralph and Mark Bey, a great-grandson Jonathan Niebel and her parents. A Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, June 4, 2009 at Eleven a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Mancelona. Fr. Dale Magoon will officiate. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mancelona. Visitation will take place on Wed. from 2-8 p.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony Catholic Church, 209 Jefferson Ave., Mancelona, MI., 49659.
