Ilene Hubbard

Ilene (Stradinger) Hubbard, 89, of Mancelona, passed away on November 30, 2014 at Hospice House of Mid Michigan in Lansing. Ilene was born on February 14, 1925 in Mancelona, the daughter of Ervin and Mae (Henderson) Grody. Ilene was a lifelong resident of Mancelona and was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, the Alba Sportsman Club and the Mancelona Ladies Auxillary. Ilene was employed by Shanty Creek Resort as well as Glen's Market and enjoyed traveling and fishing. She is survived by 4 children, William (Lola) Stradinger of LaPeer, Robert II "George" (Deborah) of Columbiaville, Patricia Graham (Don) of Williamston, William Fraley (Kim) of Kalkaska, 2 step-children, Vicki Hubbard of Lansing, James Hubbard of Tampa, Fla., a sister Dorothy (Harry) Richards of Mancelona, a brother Jake Grody of East Jordan, 4 sisters-in-law, Arthella (Ernest) Grody of Mancelona, Shirley (Howard) Grody of Mancelona, Shirley (Red) Grody of Mancelona, Esther (Don) Grody of Mancelona, 13 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Bob Stradinger, husband Lee Hubbard, 5 brothers, Bob Grody, Red Grody, Bill Grody, Howard Grody, Don Grody, 2 sisters, Shirley Weis, Sylvia "Blackie" Troyer as well as her parents. Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, December 4, 2014, 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Mancelona with Fr. Dale Magoon officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. with a Rosary at 8:30 p.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Interment will be private in Fairview Cemetery, Mancelona. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony Catholic Church or to Hospice House of Mid Michigan. Arrangements are being handled by the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
