Howard Struthers

Howard G. Struthers, 88, of Charlevoix, passed away Saturday, September 5, 2015, at Boulder Park Terrace in Charlevoix. He was born June 13, 1927, in Charlevoix, to John and Anna (Sauder) Struthers. Howard attended Charlevoix High School before entering the US Army during WWII. He served at the end of WWII, and in Korea.

On February 7, 1955, he married Mona L. McFarland in Charlevoix.

Howard was an Optician at Burns Clinic in Petoskey for twenty-seven years. He owned Howard's Optical in Charlevoix for fifteen years before retiring.

Howard loved to golf, and in the winter he bowled. He was a member of VFW Post 1153, Charlevoix.

He is survived by his wife, Mona L; son, Charles (Barbara) Struthers; daughter, Lee Ann Struthers, all of Charlevoix; grandchildren, Robert (Nikkie) Struthers, Cheryl (Devin) Haas; great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Thomas; and a great-granddaughter to be in November, Arabella.

A private graveside service is planned.
