Herman Hopp

Herman D. Hopp, 93, of Alba passed away February 9, 2014 at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility. Herman was born on April 30, 1920 in Oakland County to Herman and Pearl (Baker) Hopp. Herman was a Dairy Farmer for most of his life and then owned and operated the Green Lantern Bar. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and spending time with family. He will be greatly missed. On October 22, 1949 in Romeo he married Ella Wiles. Also surviving are children, Donald (Sharon) Hopp and Jeanette (Perry) Rusnell; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and 1 on the way; and 2 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 daughters, Susan Hopp, Carolyn Coon and Marilyn Huffman. Funeral Services will be held at The Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at 12:00 Noon. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Burial will take place at Star Township Cemetery in the Spring. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
