Henry "Hank" I. Klooster, 81, of Norwood, died peacefully at his home on Tuesday, January 12, 2016.
He was born September 6, 1934 in Petoskey, Michigan to Conrad and Catherine (Smith) Klooster.
Hank graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1953. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1953 to 1957.
On August 21, 1957 he married Jacqueline Marcotte in Brunswick, Maine. They made their home in Norwood.
Hank was part owner and parts manager of Klooster Implement in Atwood. He was a member of Community Reformed Church in Charlevoix. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, farming, hunting and cribbage.
Surviving are his wife Jacqueline; children Diane (Dan) Bennett of Bellaire, Paul Klooster of Dallas, Texas, Carl "Butch" (Joan) Klooster of Jamestown, South Dakota, Debby (Lee) Chapaw of Petoskey, Patrick (Susan) Klooster of Charlevoix; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Esther Klooster of Cedar Springs, Carolyn Klooster of Charlevoix, and Eloise Klooster of Charlevoix. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Jim Klooster, Conrad Klooster and Robert Klooster.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, January 18, 2016 at Community Reformed Church in Charlevoix with the Rev. Chip Sauer officiating. Friends may call at Hastings Funeral Home on Sunday, January 17 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Inurnment will be in Atwood Cemetery.
