Heather Templin, age 68 of Rapid City passed away suddenly from a car accident on December 12, 2017.

Heather was born on February 19, 1949 in Homewood, Illinois to the late Webb and Jeanne (Allen) Templin. Heather moved to Northern Michigan after graduating high school. She worked in real estate as well as for many years at Alden State Bank and Turtle Creek Casino. She also served as the Milton Township Treasurer for many years.  Heather loved animals and co-founded with her friend Mona, the group Little Help From my Friends which has been built into an animal shelter in Bellaire.

In September 1970 Heather married Jim Knust of Rapid City who survives. Heather is also survived by her daughters, Amy (Randy) Russell and Holly (Rich) Charbonneau, both of Rapid City; brother-in-law, Harold Lee of Rapid City; sister-in-law, Sheri Templin of Frankfort, IL; 4 grandchildren, Scott Russell, Logan Knust, Calista Charbonneau and Olivia Charbonneau and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Scott Templin and sister, Cameron Lee.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church at 404 Spruce Street, Elk Rapids, Michigan with Pastor Tom Cook officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Visitation will also be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Interment will take place in Milton Township Cemetery in the spring of 2018.
