Harry Eckler

Harry "Bud" Herbert Eckler, 85, of Mancelona, went home to be with the Lord September 23, 2011. Bud was a member of the American Legion and Veterans Council along with serving in World War II. He was a Decon at the Church of Christ, worked for the Antrim County Road Commission for 33 years and was an avid sportsman. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Helen Louise Eckler, children, are Vicki (Pace) Williams, Carla Sue Raudman and Ruth Ann (Pace) Beasley; his sister is, Ruth Sias; Bud has many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Bud was loved very much by his family and friends and will be missed by many in the community. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Lee Eckler and a brother, Ivan Eckler. Funeral services will be held Mon. Sept. 26 at 11:30 am at the Antrim Church of Christ, Mancelona. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sat. Sept. 24, from 7 to 9 pm and Sun. Sept. 25, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
