Harold Churchill

HAROLD W. CHURCHILL, 92, of Mancelona, died on February 15, 2010 at Munson Medical Center. Harold was born on July 14, 1917 in Deford, Michigan, the son of Warren and Maude (Milton) Churchill. Harold married Lena McArthur on November 12, 1938 in Wilmont, Michigan. He and Lena then moved to Mancelona in 1953. He was a long time member of the Mancelona Free Methodist Church and was employed by Wicks for many years before retiring on July 31, 1980. Upon his retirement he spent his time with his family, church and gardening. He is survived by his wife Lena, 4 children, Faye (James) Homan, Ronald (Sandy Kline) Churchill, Richard (Katherine Ecklund) Churchill and Gary Churchill all of Mancelona. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister Olive Elder, 2 brothers, Kenneth and Ralph Churchill as well as his parents. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, Feb. 18 at 3:00 p.m. at the Mancelona Free Methodist Church. Rev. Gerald Cook will officiate. Visitation will take place at the Church from 1:00 until the time of service. Interment will take place in the Spring at Fairview Cemetery, Mancelona.
