Greg Kiessel

Gregory G. Kiessel, 62, of Ypsilanti, formerly of Central Lake, passed away on march 26, 2015 at his home. Greg was born on July 15, 1952, in Petoskey the son of Rufus "Bill" and Emily (Reicha) Kiessel. Greg was a 1970 graduate from Central Lake Schools where he played football. He resided in Central Lake most of his life and worked for many years at McDowell Farms then went on to work at Kiessel Farms for several years. He was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter Kila. Greg is survived by 2 sons, Jason and Joshua Kiessel both of Ypsilanti, a granddaughter Kila Higbee-Kiessel also of Ypsilanti, 3 brothers, Tom (Connie) Kiessel of Central Lake, Chet Kiessel of Central Lake, Kenn (Sharon) Kiessel of Central Lake, a sister Christine (Steven) Draper of Bellaire as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes Rev. Mark Belanger will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
