Grant Clifton Gilbert

Grant Clifton Gilbert, 74, of Mancelona, passed away on November 24, at home. He was born on March 3, 1950, in Ann Arbor, the son of Clifton and Marie (Austin). 

Gilbert.Grant had a variety of hobbies, with his favorite being race cars and cooking. Holiday dishes were his specialty with rolls at every meal and grilled pineapple for Easter. When it came to race cars, he could fix anything motivated by his passion for both the sport and his grand kids. His extensive mechanical background shined through in his retirement. Building the cars was a lot of fun to Grant, and he spent many hours doing so. His adopted grandsons were the light of his life, and he enjoyed spending time with his family.


Surviving Grant in death are his Cousin Claudia Gilbert and husband Scott Huolihan of Mancelona, his adopted family, Travis & Stormy Reist of Mancelona, two adopted grandchildren, Donavin and Eivind Reist, cousin John Schweighart and second cousins in the U.P.  He is preceded in death by his parents.

There are no services planned at this time.
