Grace May (Douglas) Van 71 of Williamsburg, passed away December 4, 2020 surrounded by her loving family at Munson Medical Center. She was born January 21, 1949 in Central Lake the daughter of Harold and Florence (Potter) Douglas.
Grace worked for many years at the Grand Traverse Resort and most recently as the manager of housekeeping at Bay Shore Resort. She was a dedicated and honest employee.
To know Grace was to love Grace. She never had an enemy or an unkind word about anyone. She loved spending time with her family, sharing her many talents of cooking, baking, and crafting with them. She also enjoyed plastic canvasing, knitting, crocheting, and gardening. Grace took pride in her lawn, making it a sanctuary for all to see. She enjoyed being outside camping, fishing, and walking everywhere she went.
Surviving is her life partner Jerry Rosenburg, her children Christine Van of Winn, Deborah Van of Kewadin, Rebecca (William) Barber of Williamsburg, sister Nancy (Art) Zelenak of Central Lake, grandchildren Danielle (Kevin) Batista, Kandyce (Karl) Ott, Anthony Keyes, Wayne II (Bobbi) Keyes, Paul (Brittany) Kalinowski, Michael (Estelle) Goodwin, Sydnie (Joe) Tylutki, Shaelyn Doyle, good friend Herbert Van, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother George Douglas and sister Sharon Waffle.
The family will receive friends Saturday, December 12, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Memorial contributions can be given to the Father Fred Foundation, 826 Hastings, Traverse City, MI 49686.
