Grace Auger

Grace Marie Auger born December 21, 1916 in Ontario, Canada to Albert and Lydia Rivais died Friday morning at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility in Bellaire, Michigan. She was preceeded in death by her husband, Edgar in September, 2009, two sisters and one brother. Grace is survived by her son Gerald (Kristine) Auger, daughter Dian (Jeffrey) Schubel, four grandchildren, Michael (Jill) Auger, Jennifer (David) Ringl, Adam (Stephanie) Schubel and Regan (Nick) LaFontaine and three great grandchildren, Jessica, Sarah and Michael Auger. Grace was an accomplished hostess, a wonderful cook, talented potter, painter, and seamstress. She enjoyed her membership in Ikebana International, the art of Japanese flower arranging. Her home was always filled with beautiful flowers and arrangements. Grace and Edgar were married 71 years and after retiring they traveled extensively. Finally deciding that the Traverse City area was their favorite place They spent 61 years on Elk Lake and wintered in Kahuku, Hawaii and Naples, Florida." A memorial will take place at a later date.
