Gordon Sherbarth

Sherbarth, Gordon Dennis "Cork"; 57; of Charlevoix; passed away Thursday, April 23, 2015 at his home. A Viewing for Gordon will be held at The Winchester Funeral Home in Charlevoix from 4 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, April 28, 2015. Per Gordon's wishes, he will be cremated and his ashes will be interred in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. Gordon was born January 30, 1958, in Pontiac, the son of Richard and Gertrude (Manderfield) Sherbarth. Gordon graduated from Clare High School and graduated from Northern Michigan University with a Registered Nurse's Degree. He proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard. Gordon worked at Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey and for the American Red Cross. He was a devoted sailer and enjoyed canoeing, hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors. Gordon is survived by his daughter, Julie Sherbarth Rodreguiez of Traverse City; and father, Richard (Mary Loomis) Sherbarth of Lake. Gordon was preceded in death by his mother, Gertrude in 2011. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross.
