Gloria Jean Halladay

Gloria J. Halladay, 75, of Central Lake, passed away on February 25, 2023 at Munson Medical Center.

   She was born on June 29, 1947, the daughter of William and Treva (Peterson) Welch.

   Gloria was truly a "Jack of all Trades" and was master of many.   Whether it was indoor or outdoor task, she could and would do it well.   Most of her favorites were outdoor activities such as gardening and flowers.   She was a lifelong resident of Central Lake where she worked for Texas Instruments for over 20 years prior to her retirement.   Following there, she home sewed for Second Chance Body Armor.

   Gloria was a devout Christian and a longtime member of the Grace Community Church in Central Lake.

   On June 6, 1964, in Central Lake, she married David E. Halladay who survives.  Also surviving are 3 children, Ronna (Rex) Whetstone of Westland, MI, David Jr. (Kimberly) Halladay of Central Lake, Lana (Rick) Poe of Owenton, KY, 9 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

   Preceding her in death were her parents, 2 sisters, Agnes Engelhardt, and Evelyn Hunter as well as a brother Faye Welch.

   Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with Pastor Denielle Moes officiating.

   Visitation will be from 12 noon until time of services at the funeral home.

   Spring burial will take place Friday, April 28th at 10 am at Southern Cemetery, Central Lake Township.

   Memorial contributions may be made to Good Samaritan, P.O. Box 206, Ellsworth, MI,  49627, or to David Halladay Jr., 7730 Mile Point Dr., Central Lake, MI,  49622, to be used for missions in Haiti.
