Glenn Loy

Glenn A. Loy,  91, of Torch Lake Township, passed away on March 2, 2018 in Florida.

Glenn was born on May 5, 1926, in Ovid, MI, the son of Oscar and Marguerette (Harris) Loy.

Glenn served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II where he was a Top Gun Turret  gunner on B-29’s.  As a hobby he flew small planes.  While living and working at General Motors in Grand Blanc, he would fly up to Torch Lake on Weekends to spend time at the family cottage.

He was a long time member of Gideons International and was a member of the Eastport Baptist Church.

On July 3, 1948, in Flint, MI, he married Marilyn J. Ault who survives.  Also surviving are 3 children, William (Cindy) Loy of Central Lake, Glenn Jr. (Leslie) Loy of Traverse City, David Loy of Otisville, MI, a sister Suzanne Whiteherse of Traverse City, 4 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter Linda Loy, two sisters, Barb and Jane, a brother Bill Loy as well as his parents.

Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Eastport Baptist Church with Pastor Jerry Troyer officiating.

Visitation will be on Monday from 4-6 p.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.

Interment with military honors will be held at a later date in Lakeview Cemetery, Torch Lake Township when weather permits.
