Gertrude Gould

GERTRUDE E. GOULD, 94, of Bellaire, passed away on April 15, 2013 at Orchard Creek Health Care in Traverse City. Gertrude was born on March 15, 1919, in Wayne, MI., the daughter of William and Hattie (Doletsky) Moers. Gertrude was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in East Jordan. She was a Bellaire resident since 1971, moving there with her husband Stanley, after retiring from Burroughs in Wayne. Gertrude was well known for her kind, caring and compassionate nature. She was a valued member of the Area Senior Center where she served on the board of directors for several years. A wonderful woman whose acts of kindness included several years of delivering meals on wheels to those in need. Many enjoyed her baking talents, she made wedding and birthday cakes and had a lot of interesting stories to tell about the making and delivering of those cakes. She was well known at the Senior Center for her fresh out of the oven bran muffins. Gertrude loved life and wanted to experience it all. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. She is survived by, a daughter Henrietta (Tom) Fabatz of Grawn, 2 brothers, Alfred (Lillian) Moers of Wayne, Clayton (JoAnn) Moers of Cedar, 9 grandchildren, Debbie Stoneman, Earl Parsons, Tony Parsons, MaryJo Parsons, Jennifer (Rob) Falkenhagen, Jeff Tweedie, Melissa, Meagan and Jennifer, several great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Stanley of 62 years, 4 brothers, Erich, Ernie, Wilfred, Robert, 2 sisters, Ella and Elenora and a step-son William Parsons. The family of Gertrude would like to extend a special "thank you" to the staff at Orchard Creek Skilled Nursing Center who treated our loved one with compassion, kindness and the respect with which she so well deserved. Funeral services will take place on Friday, April 19 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Pastor Jeffrey Londgren will officiate. Visitation will be from noon until the time of service on Friday and also from 6-8 p.m. Thursday also at the funeral home. Interment will take place in Lakeview Cemetery, Bellaire, in the spring.
