Gerald “Tut” C. Patrick, 76 of Mancelona passed away on November 6, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family.
Tut was born on August 30, 1941 in Mancelona to the late Curtis O. and Hilda I. (Martin) Patrick.
Tut was a lifelong resident and true lover of Mancelona. He was very active in the community and was always volunteering for many different organizations. The phrase “give you the shirt off of his back” was made with Tut in mind. He was a very selfless person who helped everyone in need without expecting anything in return. He was an Antrim County Commissioner, Mancelona Township Supervisor, Mancelona Council Member and one of the founding members of the Mancelona Liars Club. Tut held many different jobs throughout his life but most recently sold real estate throughout the Mancelona Area. Without any doubt his family was the most important aspect of his life. Tut coached little league baseball for many years and never missed a sporting event that his grandchildren were involved in.
Tut is survived by his children, Mary Ann Patrick of Mancelona, Brian (Kris) Patrick of Lincoln Park, grandchildren, Thomas (fiancé Stacey and her children) Evans, Madison Evans, Brianna, Sophia and Rose Patrick, Braedon and Drew Moeke, brothers, Harold Patrick of Alexandria, VA, Dick Patrick of Mancelona, Jim (Sheila) Patrick of Bath, MI, sisters, Judy Payne of Ovid, Midge (Mike) Osborne of Mancelona, Helen (Skip) Newman of Traverse City, Sue Mathes of Mancelona, former wife and mother of his children, Donna Patrick of Traverse City, brother-in-law, Nick Altrock of Mancelona, sister-in-law, Anne Patrick of Alexandria, VA and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Billy Patrick, parents and sister, Kathy Altrock and many aunts and uncles.
