Gerald "G" Lent

Gerald “G” Robert Lent, 40, of East Jordan, passed away suddenly on Monday, October 7, 2024, at his home. He was born on December 12, 1983, in Charlevoix, the son of Rick “Richard” Lent and Cathy Russell.

Gerald was a skilled tradesman and knew how to do just about anything; from drywall, to framing, to finish work, to painting, he did it all. In his own words, he was a Jack of all Trades and not a Master of a damn one. He also enjoyed working on cars and was especially good with brakes and decals. He was as strong as an ox and could throw around a 16-foot ladder with ease. He collected knives, shoes, and flat bill hats, and had a knack for dirtying every pair of pants he wore. Those close to him were lucky enough to witness his dance moves, and some were even luckier to hear him give his best shot at singing. Most of all, he loved to spend time with his children. For the last two years, he was a stay-at-home super dad and soaked in every moment he could with them.

Gerald is survived by his parents, Rick Lent of Boyne City and Cathy Russell of East Jordan; his sisters, Riki Jordan (Lent) of Elmira and Maya Lent of Boyne City; his brother-in-law Justin Jordan of Elmira; his nephews, Caden Hankins and Keegan Boss; his wife Danielle “Danie” Lent of East Jordan; his daughters Cali Foss, Taryn Lent, Brooklyn Lent, Geri Lent; his son, Dayton Lent; his mother-in-law Melinda “Mindy” Cook; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and in-laws.

He was preceded in death by his Uncle Mike “Michael” Lent; his grandpa Charles (Red) Lent; his grandpa Jerry “Gerald” Russell Jr.; his grandma Evelyn Russell; his grandpa Bob “Robert” Balla; his grandma Linda Frye Potter; Uncle Jimmy “James” Russell; and father-in-law, Daniel Lee Cook.

A celebration of Gerald’s life will take place at a later date.
