Gerald Lee Frimodt, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed away peacefully on June 20, 2024, in Lansing, MI. He was surrounded by his loving family during his final moments.

Gerald led a remarkable life full of dedication and service. He graduated from Bradley University in Peoria, IL with a Bachelor Degree, and he embarked on a distinguished 22-year career in the United States Navy actively and in the reserves, retiring as a Navy Commander. Gerald continued to serve others with unwavering commitment as a Claims Superintendent for State Farm Insurance Agency for over three decades.

Those who knew Gerald will always remember him for his kind and caring nature. He was described as an all-around good guy who touched the lives of many with his warm personality. Gerald had a passion for spending quality time with his family and friends. He especially enjoyed indulging in desserts and never missed an opportunity to satisfy his sweet tooth.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Gerald found joy in various hobbies and interests. He took pleasure in fishing and gardening, but above all, he cherished watching U of M Football games. In 1996, he and his devoted wife Phyllis Ann (McFalls) Frimodt began wintering in Sun City Center, FL. They created countless memories together with their friends while also exploring new destinations through their love for travel.

Gerald will be deeply missed by his surviving family members: his beloved wife Phyllis Ann; children Tamela (Tom) Eckhardt of Lansing, Teri (Mark) DeWalt of Austin, TX, Kimberly (Eric) Schobert of Lansing, Steve (Mary Jo) Frimodt of Eagle; grandchildren Samantha and Nathan Eckhardt, Ryan and Cory DeWalt, Ronnie (Moshe Babijaev) Schobert and Cody Schobert, Amanda (Alex) Janeczek, Elizabeth (Thomas Mazeika) Frimodt; great-grandchildren Mila, Isaac and Louisa.

A visitation and funeral service to honor the life of Gerald Lee Frimodt will take place on July 3rd, 2024 at the First Congregational Church in Central Lake, MI. The visitation will begin at 10:00 AM followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Southern Cemetery. Those wishing to make a memorial donation in his memory can give them to the First Congregational Church or the Parish Nurse Program also at the First Congregational Church, PO BOX 326, Central Lake, MI 49622.
