GEORGE SEDORCHUK, Jr., 54, of Kewadin, passed away on December 7, 2011. George was born on May 1, 1957 in Highland Park, MI., the son of George and Gloria (Harrier) Sedorchuk. George was a resident of Kewadin for the past 5 years and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elk Rapids. He served his country honorably for 4 years in the United States Navy and enjoyed many outdoor activities especially scuba diving, sailing and fishing. He is survived by his wife Doreen of 11 years, 5 children, Jennifer (Al) Trapp of Panama City, Fla., Christi (Andy) Lewandowski of Rogers City, Madi Gosselin of Kewadin, Garret Gosselin of Kewadin and Julia Sedorchuk of Kewadin. Also surviving are a sister Jeri (Terry) Griffin of Madison Heights, MI., a brother Gregory Sedorchuk, a granddaughter Ella who is on the way and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will take place on Sun., Dec. 11 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elk Rapids, with a vigil for the Deceased at 7:00 p.m. Mass from the order of Christian Funerals will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday, Dec. 12, with Rev. Robert J. Zuchowski presiding. Memorial contributions may be directed to his family. Arrangements are being handled by the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
