Gary E. Morse

Gary E. Morse Sr., 83 of Mancelona, died July 10, 2022 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.  He was born March 28, 1939 in Oxford, the son of Carroll and Hope (Clohs) Morse. 

   Gary was a proud patriot and served in the United States Army and locally as the Commander at the Mancelona American Legion.  He enjoyed riding motorcycles, working on cars and everything about cars too.  He loved the great outdoors, working around his yard, camping and cookouts.  He was known for the amazing poems he wrote and the good music he enjoyed! 

   The number one priority in Gary’s life was his family.  He loved spending time with his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids at their sporting events, school activities, and other adventures. 

   On June 19, 1982 in Alba he married Carolyn J. Williams who survives.  Also surviving are his children Gary Jr. (Jacquelyn) Morse of Wolverine, Rosalee Wilson of Mancelona, T.J. Morse of Mancelona, Bernadine Poole of Davisburg, 17 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.   He was preceded in death by his parents, 6 brothers, and 1 sister. 

   Graveside services with Military Honors will be held Thursday, July 14 at 11 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery, Mancelona.  Memorial contributions can be given to the family.
