Gary M. Hall, 65 of Alden MI and formally Columbus OH died suddenly Thurs. Sept. 20, 2012, entering the presence of his Savior. Gary was born June 1, 1947 in Akron, Ohio, the son of Chester and Lucille (Rose) Hall. He grew up in Ava, OH. Gary will best be remembered for his love and devotion to his family and friends, his keen wit, strong work ethic and trust in God. His favorite scripture was Proverbs 22:6 "Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he shall not depart". After spending many years in Columbus, in 2000 Gary moved his family to the blue waters of Torch Lake and the beauty and simplicity of Northern Michigan. He spent countless hours boating with family and friends, enjoying the peace and serenity of his surroundings. He was a member of the Bellaire Community United Methodist Church. Gary's professional career spanned over four decades in information technology. Upon his death he was Head of Infrastructure and Operations at BondDesk Trading LLC in Rochester, MI. He had a unique management style that positively touched the lives of everyone in his work setting. In 1985 he married his soulmate Lisabeth Droke, who survives. Also surviving are his children Sherri (Brett) Remund of St. George, UT, Michael (Catherine) Hall of Boise, ID, David Hall of Columbus, OH, Mark (Angela) Hall, of Salt Lake City, UT, Jeff (Kayla) Hall of Charleston, NC, Bethanie Hall of Mancelona, Denny Hall of Alden, brother Dwayne (Yvonda) Hall of Shreveport, LA, step-mother Melva Hall, step siblings Gene (Becky), Robert and Andy Pointer, 14 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and friends too many to number. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Wayne and Denny. A celebration of life will be held Mon. Sept. 24, at 2 p.m. at the Bellaire Community United Methodist Church with Pastor Carl Litchfield officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Eastport. The family will receive friends Sun. Sept. 23, from 5 to 8 pm at the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes and Mon. Sept. 24 at the church from 1 pm until the time of service.
