Gary Burghardt

Gary Ralph Berghardt, 73 of Bellaire, died April 16, 2018.  He was born to Elmer and Margaret (Reeder) Burghardt on December 7th 1944 in Detroit, MI.  Gary grew up on his grandparent’s farm in Inkster, MI. After graduating from High School he enlisted in the US Army where he served 4 years and was honorably discharged. He married Kelly (Scholl) Burghardt in 1981 and he worked for 10 years with the Mancelona Ambulance as an EMT. In recent years Gary could be found driving the roads of northern Michigan, logging many miles in any weather condition, to any destination, with a steaming cup of coffee or iced tea. One of his favorite hobbies was helping his son Rob with the garbage business and he loved to chat with any willing ear. On the top of his priority list was spending time with his 4 grandchildren.  They brought him much joy and happiness.

Surviving are his 3 sons, Samuel Burghardt, Daniel Burghardt, and Robert Burghardt (Danielle Burghardt) of Bellaire and 4 precious grandchildren Solin, Bryten, Levi and Selah

A graveside memorial service will take place at the Westwood Cemetery, Rapid River Township, at a later date.
