Frank Verellen

Frank Douglas Verellen Jr., 79, of Central Lake, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 19, 2021 Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility in Bellaire.  He was born on December 14, 1941 in Howell, MI, the son of Frank Sr. and Dorothy (Konkle) Verellen.

Frank married Jeanette Thompson on October 21, 1961 in Brighton, MI.  They moved to Central Lake from Madison Heights in 1978.  He served as the Head of Maintenance at Central Lake Public Schools for over 30 years.  He was a member of the Pleasant Valley Free Methodist Church, and he also served on the Central Lake Lions Club.  Frank enjoyed fishing, spending time on the water, spending time with his family, and most importantly, he loved God.

Frank is survived by his loving wife, Jeanette Verellen; four children, Steven (Danielle) Verellen of Central Lake, Wayne Verellen of Central Lake, Keith (Katie) Verellen of Central Lake, and Amber Verellen (Nicholas McDonald) of Central Lake; his brother, Richard Verellen of AZ; his sister, Genell Kirchner of Howell; seven grandchildren, Jeremiah, Tyler, Kaitlyn, Jayne, Mackenzie, Douglas, Lauren (Luke); and three great-grandchildren, Bentley, Miles, and Dylan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Allen Verellen.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 26, 2021 at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with Pastor Brian Yost officiating.  Visitation will take place from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant Valley Free Methodist Church, 3055 W Old State Rd, East Jordan, MI 49727.
