FRANK FIFELSKI 83, of Lakes of the North, Antrim County, died on Friday, Oct. 17, 2008 in Gaylord.

Frank was born on August 22, 1925 in Detroit, the son of Frank and Elizabeth (Witucki) Fifelski.

Frank was a Lakes of the North resident since 1981, was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Mancelona, Eagles Lodge in Gaylord and was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus.

He drove school bus for the Alba Public Schools and enjoyed gardening, various outdoor activities and was famous for his homemade pizzas.

Frank proudly served his country during World War II as a U.S. Marine.

He is survived by 4 children, Yvonne Fifelski of Lakes of the North, Delphine Pierce of Lakes of the North, Ken (Julie) Fifelski of Bellaire, Sandy (Ken) Hawkins of Livonia, former daughter-in-law Donna Fifelski of Bellaire, 2 sisters, Delores (Harry) Caruso of Westland, Caroline Bakota of Gladwin, 5 grandchildren, Matthew, Michael, Amy, Katelyn, Andrea, as well as 2 great grandchildren Victoria and Preston.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Theresa Fifelski, his second wife Esther Fifelski, a son Daniel Michalski, a grandson Kenneth Hawkins, a sister Irene, 5 brothers, Raymond, Chester, Bobby, Eugene, Cass as well as his parents.

Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, Oct. 20, 2008 at Eleven a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Mancelona. Fr. Dale Magoon will officiate.

Interment will follow in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery in Mancelona.

Visitation will take place on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with a Rosary Service at 5:00 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony Catholic Church or to the Boystown of America.
