Frank Craft

Frank "Phil" Craft, 77, of Mancelona, passed away on July 29, 2013 at his home. Phil was born on August 29, 1935 in East Jordan, the son of Wilber and Anna (Eaton) Craft. Phil was raised in East Jordan but had resided in Mancelona for the past 40 years. He was employed at East Jordan Plastics for 40 years and also worked for Walkers Salvage Yard. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed building and racing cars on dirt tracks, hunting, fishing and watching old Westerns. On July 6, 1984, in Bellaire, he married Carol Corbin who survives. Also surviving are 11 children, Deborah Sparks of Mancelona, Cassie (Manuel) Tipton of Mancelona, Lorraine (Randy) Logan of TN., Patrick (Valerie) Craft of Mancelona, Sandy (Paul) Wojcik of Mancelona, Chad (Jelena) Craft of Mancelona, Crystal (Grant) Vahovick of Mancelona, Paul (Dana) Eckert of Gaylord, Jerry Ordway of Mancelona, Elisa (Jeff) Coan of Elmira, Leah (Thomas) Gaudette of Mancelona, 38 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Christopher Lee Craft, Phillip Edward Craft, a sister Eldeva Marshall and his parents. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, August 1 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Pastor Larry Kirby will officiate. Visitation will be from noon until the time of services. Interment will take place in Sunset Hill Cemetery, East Jordan. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Michigan.
