Francis “Frank” Willenborg, 89, of Bellaire, passed away peacefully, on June 5, 2017 at his home.
Frank was born on September 24, 1927, in Detroit, the son of Louis and Clara (Thoele) Willenborg.
Frank was a longtime member of St. Luke Catholic Church in Bellaire and was active in the Antrim County Baby Pantry.
He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed his Monday morning pool guys, golfing and following many sports.
He served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the World War II era and was employed by General Motors for 42 years prior to retiring to Bellaire.
On October 6, 1955, in Detroit, he married Theresa “Terry” Sepanik who survives. Also surviving are eight children, 19 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren as well as a sister.
He was preceded in death by a son Matthew J. Willenborg and his parents.
Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, June 9, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Luke Catholic Church with Fr. Chet Collins officiating. Visitation will take place from 11:00 a.m. until time of Mass at church.
Military honors will follow mass at church.
