Francis A. Rogers, 83 of Central Lake, died Wednesday, October 14, 2020 surrounded by his family.  He was born July 17, 1937 in Bellaire the son of John and Josephine (Kortanek) Rogers.

Francis retired from Dura Automotive after 35 years of dedicated service.  He was a loving husband and father who enjoyed spending time with his family, especially watching the kids and grandkids play sports. He enjoyed bonfires, tinkering in his garage, classic country music, and reading.  He walked every day and was an avid Detroit Tigers fan until recently.  Francis and Jinks spent the winters in the warm weather of Lake Region Village, FL.  He enjoyed his friends and could always be found on his golf cart watching the beautiful sunset there.

Surviving is his wife of 48 years, LaVera “Jinks” Rogers.  Also surviving are his children Robin (Nate) Sommer, Jay (Chris) Rogers, Julie Rogers, Bryan (Cindy) Rogers, Ken (Kelly) Rogers, Neil (Donna) Rogers, Dean (Karla) Rogers, Cathy (Greg) Lorenz, 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren with one on the way, and several nieces and nephews.   He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings Howard, Jack (Wanda), Hugh, Jackie (Stan) Gibbard, Ruth (Gene) Bainum, and grandson Damien Smith.

A family celebration will be held and interment will take place in Moorehouse Cemetery, Echo Township.  Memorial contributions can be made to Central Lake Public Schools Athletic Department, PO BOX 128, Central Lake, MI, 49622.
