Frances Ward

Frances Ward, 84, of Charlevoix, passed away Monday, November 7, 2016, at Boulder Park Terrace Nursing Home in Charlevoix. She was born December 9, 1931, in Charlevoix to Henry and Nellie Potter.

Fran graduated from Charlevoix High School and on June 8, 1949, married Bernie Ward, Jr. at the Barnard United Methodist Church. Bernie preceded her in death on March 5, 2008.

Fran loved to bake and made cakes and deserts for birthdays and special occasions. She enjoyed entertaining her family in her home for the holidays. Most of all, Fran loved loved her husband, Bernie, and she enjoyed spending her life with him.

Fran was a member of the First Baptist Church in Charlevoix.

She is survived by her family: son, Bernie Ward, III “Sonny”, his wife Sandra, and their children, Christie Ann (Michael) Strahan, Brian Christopher (Maegan) Ward, Kelly Elizabeth (David) Linne, Heather Michelle Ward; son, Don Ward, his wife Carol, and their children, Natalie L. Ward, Russell (Crystal) Ward, Brittany J. Ward; great-grandchildren, Lucas Michael and Isla Logann Strahan, William Bernie, Barrett Brian and Neva Mae Ward, Lake Leigh and Sage Tharon Linne, Haleigh J. Ward; sister, Lucille Himebauch; sister-in-law, Louise Potter. Fran was preceded in death by four brothers and sisters.

Visitation will begin at 11am, Tuesday, November 15, at the First Baptist Church in Charlevoix where the funeral will begin at 1pm. The Reverend David Behling will officiate. Burial will follow at Brookside Cemetery in Charlevoix.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church in Charlevoix.
