Fran A. Vanniman

Fran A. Vanniman, 59 of Bellaire passed away February 20, 2024 at home.  She was born March 31, 1964 in Charlevoix the daughter of William and Emma (Brooks) Carpenter.  

   Fran grew up in Ellsworth where she graduated from High School.   She began her career as a hair dresser in 1982 and continued cutting, curling, and styling hair for over 40 years.   The love of Fran’s life were her children and grandchildren.  She enjoyed spending all her spare time with them and watching them in their activities too.   Fran also enjoyed traveling to race tracks over the years, especially the Merritt Speedway.

   Surviving are her daughters Becky (Ty) Phillips of Mancelona, Alicia Kniss of Bellaire, sister Rhonda (Bryan) Daining of East Jordan, sister-in-law Janice Carpenter of Ellsworth, grandchildren Ty, Carson, Mason, Leanna, Rowan, Aaron, Roger, Russell, 4 nephews and special friend Ramon Irizarry-Aray.  She was preceded in death by her parents and brother James “Fish” Carpenter.  

   A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 2, at 2 p.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with the family receiving friends from 12 noon until the time of service.
