Floyd C. Liskum, 104, of Bellaire, died Thursday, August 9, 2007 at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility in Bellaire. Floyd was born July 6, 1903 in East Jordan, the son of Nathan and Clara (Isaman) Liskum. He was a self employed mason and moved to Bellaire from East Jordan in 1947. On December 27, 1947 in Bellaire, he married Margaret A. (Grootenhauis) Cook who preceded him in death in 2004. Also preceding him in death were two brothers Reuben and RV and four sisters, Nathalie Crawford, Eunice Liskum, Hildred Gaubatz and Azalia Wenderling. Floyd was a former member of the Bellaire Lions Club, served many years on the Bellaire Public School Board and as a Forest Home Twp. Trustee. He served in the US Army during WWII in Normandy, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe, and was a member if the American Legion Bellaire Post #247 for over 60 years. He wintered in Texas for over 30 years and enjoyed playing cards and hunting. Surviving are a daughter Darlene Sexton (Bill Sanders) of Bellaire, two stepsons; Larry (Sandra) Cook of Bellaire, Brent (Joan) Cook of Tuscan, Ariz, five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 13, 2007 at Two p.m. at the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes, with Jean Thornell officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Bellaire. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
