Florian Puroll

Florian Jerome Puroll, 61, of Elmira, went to be with our Lord on Monday, March 30, 2015, at McLaren Northern Michigan in Petoskey. Florian was born on October 16, 1953 in Petoskey, the son of Alex and Louise (Kolasa) Puroll. During his youth, Florian was an altar server at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Elmira. Florian was a semi-truck driver for several years. He dedicated his life to taking care of his wife Patty due to her delicate health. He was also a backyard mechanic and an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed tying flies for trout fishing and going hunting. He spent his life growing up on and living near the family farm. He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia "Patty" Puroll on March 21, 2015, his parents, Alex and Louise Puroll, and a niece Melissa (Dullock) Willman. Surviving are his siblings, Constance (Robert) Dullock, Joyce (Bruce) Brennan, Therese (Joseph) Doremire, Martin (Judy) Puroll, Delores (Daniel) Myslakowski, Florence (Steve) Hajek, Dominic Puroll, Norbert (Bonnie) Puroll, and Barbara (Robert) Lidtke as well as many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. A Funeral Mass for him and his wife Patricia will take place on Saturday, April 25, 2015, 1:00 p.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Elmira with Fr. Peter Wigton as celebrant. Visitation will be from noon until the time of Mass. Interment will take place in St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Cemetery following Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Diocese of Gaylord Seminarian Fund. Arrangements are being handled by the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
