Florence Neuman

Florence J. Neuman, 89, of Bellaire, died peacefully in her sleep on June 5, 2016 at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility. Florence was born on July 22, 1926, in Redford Township, MI, the daughter of Victor and Stella (Oleson) Evans. Florence graduated in 1945 from St. Clement School. She met and married her beloved husband, Victor J. Neuman, on April 19, 1965 in Center Line, MI. They were happily married for 34 years at the time of Victor's passing in 1999. She was a devoted wife and mother. Florence and Victor were the proud parents of 2 boys, Paul and Joe. After living in Center Line for 6 years, they decided to move north to Bellaire where they owned and operated Vic's Drive-In and the Dream Acre Motel, which now is the All Seasons Motel. They lived there until June of 1984 when they retired and moved east of Bellaire. In her free time, Florence enjoyed crocheting, knitting, reading books and enjoying the scenery around her home. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Victor, her parents Victor and Stella Evans, two sisters, Flora (Frank) Rettig and Mary Evans both of Center Line, MI. Florence will be greatly missed by her two sons, Paul (Amy) Neuman of Bellaire, Joe (Krissy) Neuman of Bellaire, her brother Victor (Leona) Evans of Clinton Township, MI, step-sons Roy (Luanne) Neuman of Roy, WA, Robert (Elaine) Neuman of Colorado Springs, CO, grandsons Eric (Christina) Kretschmer of Bellaire, Spencer Neuman of Bellaire as well as many other grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, June 9 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Fr. Chet Collins will officiate. Visitation will be from noon until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke Catholic Church or Munson Hospice.
