On Friday, April 16, 2021 Evelyn Kulhawick left her earthly home to be in the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Evelyn was born to Joseph and Josephine Kobylczak April 30, 1930. She lived in Gaylord with her sister, Bernice and attended St. Mary's School. She married the love of her life Henry Kulhawick, July 2, 1947, who preceded her in death May 23, 1995.
After raising 12 children, at the age of 50, Evelyn received her LPN from Alpena Community College and worked as a private nurse and for a doctor's office until she retired.
She had a quiet, generous, loving spirit and lived in Ellsworth, MI for 50 years enjoying crossword puzzles, volunteering in the community, baking, sewing, and gardening.
She is survived by her sister Bernice (Jim) Holborn. Her twelve children: Colleen Sexton, Catherine Prow, Mike Kulhawick (Holly), Henry (Kim) Kulhawick, Theresa Copenhaver (John), Leona Wardosky (Dennis), Joe Kulhawick (Ruth), Charles Kulhawick (Rebecca), Mary Hildebrand (Bob), Frank Kulhawick (Hope), Louis Kulhawick, and Leo Kulhawick (Cheri). Also, surviving are grand children, great-grand children, and great-great grand children.
Visitation will be held at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes on June 25 from 4-7 PM. The Celebration of Life service will be June 26 at 11:00 AM at First Congregational Church, 8066 W. State St., Central Lake, MI with Pastor Gary Bekkering officiating.
