Eugene Waffle Sr.

Eugene Nelson Waffle Sr., 78, of Charlevoix died Wednesday, January 25, 2017 in Petoskey.

He was born in Charlevoix on June 2, 1938 to Garrett and Bonnie (Richards) Waffle.

On October 17, 1982 he married Mary J. Miller in Ellsworth. They lived in Ellsworth, moving to Hayes Township in 1984. Mary died in 1997.

Eugene worked at Harbor Industries, in Charlevoix. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Eugene loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed eagles, doves and deer.

Surviving are his children Randy (Sheresse) Waffle of Bellaire, Theresa Duncan of Charlevoix, Eugene Nelson Waffle Jr. of Charlevoix; two grandchildren, Shanda and Sheila; his step-mother Millie Myszak of Bellaire; siblings Garry Waffle of Long Beach, CA, Marguerite (Bill) Ford of East Jordan, Debbie (Roger) Simons of Central Lake, Donna (Bill) Johnson of Central Lake and Dee (Keith) Roark of Bellaire.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Hastings Funeral Home in Ellsworth. Pastor Dave McCarthy will officiate. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
