Eugene Dunning

Eugene W. Dunning, 77, of Mancelona, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center, Memory Care Unit. Gene was born February 5, 1934 in Flint, MI., the son of Elmer and Ruby Dunning. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Martha Dunning. He is also survived by two daughters, Pamela (Rod) Vesey of Mancelona and Martha (Dennis) Bricker of Bay City; five grandchildren, Ryan, Debbie, Eric, Keith and DJ; seven great-grandchildren; siblings, Dorothy Isbell of Montrose and Donald Dunning of Sault St. Marie; many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed. Gene enjoyed large game hunting, going to the casino, and attending sporting events with his grandsons. Most of all, his pride and joy were his family. A Celebration of Gene's Life will be held Saturday, January 14, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with Pastor Daniel J. McVey officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 10 a.m. until the time of services.
