Eugene Brooks

Eugene E. Brooks, 80, of Central Lake, died Friday, January 20, 2017 at his home.

Eugene was born on March 24, 1936 in Easton Township, the son of the late Asa and Franie (Sowers) Brooks Sr.

Eugene served in the Army from 1954 until his honorable discharge in 1956. On January 25, 1957 in Crystal Twp., he married Ethel M. Curtis who preceded him in death on March 31, 2001. They moved to Central Lake in 1990 from Carson City.

Eugene is survived by his children, Debra Miller of Carson City, Eugene Brooks Jr. of Buena Park, CA, Doug (Linda) Brooks of Ithaca and Kathy Peterson of Buffalo, WY; sister, Beatrice Sly; brothers, Ed and Ron Brooks; many grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, son, Michael; sisters, Emma Jean and Ellen; brothers, Asa Jr. and Milan.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 29, 2017 at 3:00 PM at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with Pastor Gary Bekkering officiating. The family will receive guests for visitation on Saturday, January 28, 2017 from 2:00 until 4:00 PM also at the funeral home.
